Seit dem Fahrplanwechsel am 15. Dezember 2013 betreibt die Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB) im Regionalverkehr die Strecken München – Rosenheim – Salzburg/Kufstein und München – Holzkirchen – Rosenheim unter dem Namen MERIDIAN.
Auf diesen Strecken sind 28 6-teilige und 7 3-teilige Triebzüge des Typs Flirt 3 im Einsatz. Diese Züge sind eine Weiterentwicklung der bekannten Stadler Flirt-Triebzüge.
