The ALe801s were an electric railcar of the Italian State Railways in service from 1976 until 2017.
The standard configuration consisted of 4 elements, namely an ALe801 tractor, 2 Le108 coaches and an ALe940 tractor, but it was possible to combine up to 3 standard configurations to obtain a train of 12 elements.
in fact the engines on the front had a bellows intercom which divided the driver's cabin in two.
They served as regional trains around large Italian cities.
Their original livery was composed of yellow and orange horizontal bands, for these colors were nicknamed "Fanta" with the Italian orange note. In the 2000s all the compositions received the XMPR livery.
