The Special menu item offers special defaults for working with the Traffic screensaver.

Use Default Direction - The direction of the movement is for the vehicles in the Stock List is the original one in which the vehicle is drawn.  This means that if there is a [<M] or [<R] command in the Stock List macro that the default direction is from left to right; when there is a [>M] or [>R] command in the same place, from right to left. This menu entry has no influence on the lines of the Timetable File which have an explicit direction parameter built into their Movement string ( D=L; D=R; etc.). In such cases, the vehicle picture is mirrored when necessary.

Colour Transformation - Changes the colours of the used pictures in the Stock List.  The selection calls the following submenu:

None - No colour transformation takes place.

Non-Transparent Black to Grey - black, non-transparent pixels are changed to grey

Black Border to Grey - black pixels around the border of the vehicle are changed to grey

Reduced Colour Palette - The pictures are displayed in a reduced palette of colours. This is usefull, if you have an older notebook or very old computer having limited color set (16 colors).

Delete Error File - Clears the file Traffic.err or rather its contents. This can be useful when one wants to check for new errors.

Open Error File - Displays the content of the Traffic.err file. In this file, which is usually stored in the user's default temporary directory Windows\Temp, all of the errors encountered during the program's operation are recorded in chronological order.

The size of the error file is limited by 1 MB. When the error file exceeds this limit, the content will be deleted automatically, and the new errors will be further appended.

High Priority - The program is given a high priority by the operating system.  This has an effect on the fluidity of the operation during testing modes.

Thougthful on music - executes a short wait in all cycles - letting your music program running often. It prefers the fluidity of the music against the movements on the screen.

Write Used - Vehicle pictures that are used in the Timetable File are marked as “used” in the Stock List.  This attribute is global and can be used for selections.

Save in V3 format - The stock list files both in .STK and .STB format, and the .TVL picture library files will be created in the older format in order to be readable by the previous Version 3.x of Traffic. This setting is available also on the Files tab.

Backup Files - Whenever a new version of a program file (stock list or timetable file) is saved, a backup copy is made.

Change Program Pictures - The pictures in some program windows can be replaced with the users own pictures. The selection thereof takes place in a submenu:

Configuration Left - replaces the left picture in the Configuration Window with the one selected.

Configuration Right - replaces the right picture in the Configuration Window with the one selected.

About Left - replaces the left picture in the Info Window with the one selected.

About Right - replaces the right picture in the Info Window with the one selected.

Preview 1 - First locomotive that appears in the mini screen of the menu when the program is previewed from the Windows screensaver selection screen.  This is found in Start | Control Panel | Display | Screensaver or by right clicking on the Windows Desktop and selecting Display from the context menu.

Preview 2 - Second locomotive which appears in the mini screen of the Windows screensaver selection screen.

Reset to default all - Sets the pictures back to the program defaults.
