The PAN animation has a more complex behavior.  Traffic accepts a variety of special pantograph action commands.  What is special about this is that all other animations control their own individual elements themselves.   The following pantograph actions each control the pantographs of one individual vehicle, up to four pantographs simultaneously.  The actions in hard brackets are very similar to the modificators for the initial pantograph state and determine the new state of the pantograph.   The main difference is that the actions refer only to the one pantograph and its state and do not apply to any other pantographs, whereas the modifiers control all of the pantographs.   If multiple pantograph modifiers are attached to a vehicle, a hierarchical system determines the validity. The modifiers assigned to the individual vehicle have precedence over the general modifiers, which apply to the entire train. When multiple pantograph actions apply to a single vehicle, each controls a subset of the pantographs.  In every case, each action in the sequence is run after the other.

The following action names act on the animations named PAN - on pantographs. You should define the pantographs in the following sequence in order these actions function correctly:

- outer left

- outer right

- inner left

- inner right

(of course, when there are less pantographs, then 4, you use only a part of this).

The following actions control the pantographs:

PDO, PNO, PN All pantographs down
PLU, P1U Left pantograph up
PLD, P1D Left pantograph down
PRU, P2U Right pantograph up
PRD, P2D Right pantograph down
PMU, P3U Third (usually the inner or inner left) pantograph up
PMD, P3D Third (usually the inner or inner left) pantograph down
P4U Fourth (inner right) pantograph up
P4D Fourth (inner right) pantograph down
PDU, P12U, PU First and second (for most locomotives this means all) pantographs up
PDD, P12D, PD First and second (for most locomotives this means all) pantographs down
PFU Front pantograph up (depends on the actual or next travel direction)
PFD Front pantograph down (depends on the actual or next travel direction)
PBU Rear pantograph up (depends on the actual or next travel direction)
PBD Rear pantograph down (depends on the actual or next travel direction)
PFIU Inner front pantograph up (depends on the actual or next travel direction – useful for multi-system locomotives)
PFID Inner front pantograph down (depends on the actual or next travel direction – useful for multi-system locomotives)
PBIU Inner rear pantograph up (depends on the actual or next travel direction – useful for multi-system locomotives)
PBID Inner rear pantograph down (depends on the actual or next travel direction – useful for multi-system locomotives)
PHU First pantograph of the train up depending on the actual or next travel direction (useful for multiple unit trains)
PHD First pantograph of the train down depending on the actual or next travel direction (useful for multiple unit trains)
PTU Last pantograph of the train up depending on the actual or next travel direction (useful for multiple unit trains)
PTD Last pantograph of the train down depending on the actual or next travel direction (useful for multiple unit trains)

These are similar to the global modifiers specifying the initial state of the pantographs, but not fully identical!
